Living in Chicago, you never know when the weather will be hot or cold. Good thing we have so many food options for unpredictable weather in the city! My go-to is hot soup or stew, no matter what temperature it is outside. My favorites are Korean stews and soups at Ahjoomah’s Apron….
Fab Happenings: Top 5 Cheap Eats in Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park has a thriving and diverse food scene. There are always new eateries and restaurants to discover. I truly believe that one could never get bored of eating out in Lincoln Park. One of the best parts about Lincoln Park, in my opinion, is that it is home to my alma-matter – DePaul University. With a huge student base all year round, Lincoln Park excels in fun and exciting cheap eats that keeps your food game strong without killing your wallet….
Fab Recipe: Holiday Breakfast Casserole
There is nothing better than waking up on Christmas morning to the heavenly scent of a breakfast casserole wafting through your nose. My Holiday Breakfast Casserole is an ode to the warm, festive Christmas tradition of gathering together on Christmas morning (while everyone is still wearing their pj’s) and enjoying a great meal with your family. After all, opening Christmas presents and unstuffing stockings involve a lot of hard work, so it is only appropriate to refuel with a good hearty breakfast….

Fab Happenings: Top 5 BYOB in Chicago
Alexandra Medina (aka @chicagomunchies on Instagram) is a talented Instagrammer that I had the pleasure of meeting earlier this year. Fab Happenings: Chicago Christkindlmarket
The holidays are my favorite time of the year, and in Chicago, the holidays are truly magical. There is nothing quite like watching bustling crowds shopping for holiday gifts, sipping on warm drinks while bundled up, or staring at all the Christmas lights around the city. But my favorite thing about the holidays in Chicago is that there is always something fun to do. So this year, I decided to check out the annual Christkindlmarket on Daley Plaza in the Chicago Loop. I had heard about the market for years, but I had never been – and boy was I missing out….
Fab Recipe: Spiced Apple Bundt Cake
There are many reasons why Fall is my favorite season. It’s that time of the year that I pull out my favorite sweatpants, walk on top of crunchy leaves, huddle over bonfires, and sip warm apple cider. However, what I really look forward to is baking at home. As this picturesque season comes to an end, I feel the need to make the most out of these great fall flavors and ingredients. There is nothing like the smell that comes from your oven when you bake with apples. They are so versatile and go well with almost anything. I love to make applesauce, apple butter, pies, or simply dice and freeze them….
Fab Review: Coalfire Pizza
As a Chicagoan, it is only fitting that pizza is a part of our diets. Who can resist a delicious pie with different toppings, a crispy crust, and gooey cheese? Talk about indulgence! In Chicago, we are known for our signature deep-dish pizza. But if you are not in the mood for deep-dish, there are other options around the city like Coalfire Pizza….
Fab Happenings: Top 5 Empanadas in Chicago
I’ve always had a soft spot for empanadas. Growing up in the Philippines, I have so many memories of making the dough, filling, assembling, and frying these handheld beauties with my family. When my grandma was alive, it was one of the few things she would request from me. She ate a very healthy diet but would indulge on my homemade empanadas, once in awhile. They were time-consuming to make but it was worth it at the end. There is something magical about biting into the crisp flaky dough and the flavorful filling. Nevertheless, I always think of my grandma when I eat empanadas….
