{Ambiance}
This spot is definitely a hidden gem. This order-at-the-counter, seat yourself restaurant is cozy. The colors are all warm browns and greens with a hipster vibe. When you walk up to the counter, there’s a huge chalk board of specials displayed , which brings liveliness and energy to the restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful in recommending options. I also give any restaurant that puts hot sauce on the table extra points because I love things spicy. A+ here, Hash!

Humboldt Hash
Clearly I had to try more than one hash being that the restaurant is named Hash. I decided to go with the Humboldt hash. I love spice and the jalapeños definitely provided my mouth with a kick. They nailed the dish with the different flavors. You can choose between chorizo and soy-rizo, so it’s also vegetarian friendly!

Truffle Hash
Need I say more? The egg yolk was cooked to perfEGGtion. The mix of kale, Brussels sprouts, and carrots give you a dose of your daily veggies in a delicious way. I love truffle, so this option was a no-brainer for me. It wasn’t drenched in truffle either, so all of the ingredients were able to shine through.

Lox Benedict
The Lox Benedict was a special item on the menu and I’m so glad I was able to try it. A perfectly toasted English muffin with creamy chive cream cheese is stacked with lox, onions, tomatoes, and capers. Then it is topped with a perfectly poached egg. Delicious!

Italian Beef Benedict
Hash’s creativity with this classic Chicago dish is genius. The Italian Beef Benedict starts with an English muffin…then a cream cheese spread, Italian beef, a poached egg, giardiniera, and a spicy hollandaise.
I decided to ditch the hollandaise sauce because I am personally not a fan, but I have a sneaking suspicion that was probably tasty if you are into hollandaise. I thought this unique spin on a classic benedict was filling and great. It was for sure a heavier option, but I’m glad I tried it!

Texas Tacos
Tacos + brunch = a happy customer. These may be a safer option for someone who isn’t into a lot of sauces or spices, but they didn’t lack beauty or taste. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, and a little chihuahua cheese and pico…YUM! Plus, who doesn’t love eating tacos for breakfast? That’s basically living the dream!

Grilled Cheese
Say cheese! The Grilled Cheese is picture perfect with the oozing blended cheese. It’s hard to mess up a grilled cheese, and Hash’s version was on point. It was gooey, warm, and perfectly toasted. Plus, it was served with a side of French fries that were spiced to perfection. What a bonus.
